What is MythicMobs?

MythicMobs is a powerful Minecraft plugin that lets you create custom mobs (monsters, animals, NPCs, etc.) with unique abilities, behaviors, skills, drops, and more. It’s used on many RPG and adventure servers to create exciting gameplay beyond vanilla Minecraft.

What You Need Before Installing

  • A Minecraft Java Edition server (this doesn’t work with Bedrock).
  • A plugin-compatible server type like:
    • Paper (recommended)
    • Spigot or Purpur also work
  • Access to your server files via FTP, file manager, or locally on your computer.

Step 1: Download MythicMobs

  1. Go to the official download page – DOWNLOAD MYTHICMOBS >
  2. Find the “Go to Download” button in the top right(Lite version is free)
  3. Click Free Version (Stable) to download the latest release
    1. ⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE: Premium has more features, most Mobs you buy on this website or similar website require the premium version of MythicMobs
  4. You’ll get a .jar file like MythicMobs-5.x.x.jar

Step 2: Install MythicMobs on your server

  1. Locate your server’s plugins/ folder
  2. Drop the MythicMobs.jar file into the plugins folder
  3. Start or restart your server
  4. You should now see a MythicMobs folder created in plugins/ – this contains config files and examples

Step 3: Check if its working

  1. In the console or in-game (if you’re OP), type:
    1. /mythicmobs
  2. You should see plugin commands listed, meaning it’s loaded correctly!

Final Notes

  • MythicMobs has a steep learning curve but it’s very powerful once you get the hang of it.
